The past 4 days for me has been eventful. My mom and sis paid me a visit in Singapore. Even though we did not visit that many places as my mom's age is catching up, it was an important time as we could spend some time with each other and have some family bonding.
We went to the Marina Bay Sands shopping mall, Singapore Arts and Science Museum. Over here, I learnt that Vincent Van Gogh is indeed a great artist. He lived till 37 years old only and he commited suicide by shooting himself in the chest. He was also well known for cutting a lobe of his ear. When he was alive, he battled mental illnesses and was in and out of the hospitals for treatments. Out of his 900 paintings that he has painted during his 10 years as an artist, only 1 was sold when he was alive! If you ask me what is my favourite painting from Van Gogh, it is the almond blossom tree painting.
We also went to Haji Lane for some sightseeing and window shopping but it was not so successful as my mom could not walk too far and needed a rest too soon. Perhaps some other time, we could make it a more fun trip. Dinner at Chits, Changi SAFRA was fun as it was dining by the sea. The food was slightly above average but it was nice to be able to dine and enjoy the sunset.
We also went to Orchard for some really light shopping at Orchard Central and 313. I scored a Uniqlo's women's umbrella for SGD4.90 only. The original pricing was SGD14.90. A good deal!
I am glad that my sis also brought me several small gifts from Thailand which she has bought along on her trip here. A polka dotted olive skirt, a purple T-shirt and a cute polka doted bag from Naraya.
Thank you to my mom and my sis for visiting me here. Special appreciation to my sis for bringing my mom along. Last but not least, thank you to F for taking time off to accompany us and show us around.
That is a nice summary of the outing :)
